Our wonderful Elite Stylist Melissa recently had the pleasure of working with a stunning Hindu bride for her two day Anglo-Hindu celebrations at the breathtaking Somerley House.
Hindu Weddings at Somerley House
Set in Hampshire countryside, Somerley House is one of England’s most captivating stately homes. The Georgian estate, still privately owned, offers the perfect backdrop for an elegant countryside wedding, offering the perfect balance of heritage and tranquility.
For this special Anglo-Hindu celebration, Somerley’s timeless setting offered the ideal space to bring two cultures together. The couple’s day combined traditional Hindu wedding rituals with contemporary English touches, honouring both of their cultural heritages in a way that felt seamless and deeply personal.
Part One at Somerley, The Mehndi
The celebrations opened at Somerley with a traditional Hindu wedding tradition, a Mehndi Party.
Hosted the night before the wedding ceremony, the Mehndi is a time for friends and family to bless the couple and enjoy Henna tattoos. In true Hindu wedding style the guests were all dressed beautifully and bright in traditional Indian dress, honouring the vibrancy and colour of Hindu Wedding Rituals.
Part Two at Somerley, The Hindu Ceremony
Eishla and Ben chose to celebrate both their Hindu and civil ceremonies on the same day at Somerley. Multi-event weddings like this Anglo-Hindu celebration take thoughtful planning to run seamlessly. The Wonderful Dorset Wedding Planner ensured every moment flowed beautifully from one ceremony to the next.
